Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) and Research Centre has become a model institution of Pakistan and to date the hospital continues to treat thousands of poor cancer patients from philanthropic resources.
The CEO, SKMCH, Dr Faisal Sultan stated this while delivering a keynote address at the International Corporate Social Responsibility Conference held at a local hotel.
Dr Sultan said the vision of the Hospital was seen by one person, Imran Khan, however, today this vision is shared by hundreds of thousands of well-wishers, who believe in the value of life not just in Pakistan but also abroad.
He also shared with audience how international and national corporate have in the past supported and contributed to the Hospital by funding the institution as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
Sultan emphasised that apart from providing state-of-the-art treatment facilities for patients, the Hospital also aspires to be a socially responsible institute in compliance with laws, rules and regulations. He added that the hospital is ensuring welfare of its employees by maintaining high safety standards, ensuring good health and compensation.
The participants of the moot appreciated and acknowledged the SKMCH&RC role as a leading and reliable charity organisation that was made possible with the help of corporate social responsibility.
