Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has started 'prayer ceremonies' on Wednesday to commemorate martyrdom of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. According to the schedule, 'prayer ceremonies' will continue up to December 24, followed by departure of carvans of PPP workers to Larkana to pay homage to their brave leader.
Pakistan's former Prime Minister and Chairperson of PPP Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a suicide attack on December 27, 2007 after addressing a public rally at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi in connection with February 18, 2008 general elections.
His brutal killing was followed by public protests across the country, particularly in Sindh, halting the administrative set up badly. Besides the prayer ceremonies, seminars, debates and party programmes throughout the country will also be organised. PPP has declared the month of December as the month of Benazir Bhutto.
