Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt, could be making his debut in the team green sooner than you expected after Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq informed that Butt could be playing for Pakistan A side.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Inzamam praised Butt for his performance during the recently concluded domestic series, where he was one of the top performer and his fitness.
“Salman Butt performed very well during the domestic series, and displayed high level of fitness at the PCB camp, despite being out of the game for six years,” said Inzamam, during a press conference.
The chief selector informed that after such a long period, it was not feasible for us to use Butt directly into international cricket, but the former captain remains in PCB’s consideration for the future.
“We are trying not to push him directly into international cricket, after such a long hiatus, and try him out during the tours of Pakistan A, so Salman Butt is still in consideration for the future,” he informed.
Salman Butt was part of the infamous trio including Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir, which were involved in the 2010 spot fixing scandal.
