Pakistan cricket team skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has expressed hope for Fawad Alam's comeback into national side.
Talking to the media in Karachi, he said Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) selection committee called Alam to the National Cricket Academy and various coaches of the team held meetings with the left-handed batsman.
Alam has been performing well in the domestic circuit, said Sarfraz, hopping that the left-hander would be able to stage a spectacular comeback in the international arena.
The selection committee takes him on board before finalising the squad for any international tournament, skipper replied a question. "The selection committee is supporting me and whenever I ask for a player to be added to the team, the selection committee tries its best to make the arrangement accordingly," Dawn.com quoted Sarfraz.
Speaking about Kamran Akmal, Sarfraz said he has no reservations regarding the recently discarded wicket keeper-batsman. "This team plays for Pakistan and whoever performs well will get a fair chance to play for the country," he added.
