JI Shoora concerned at Karachi's law and order

The central Shoora of Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan has accused the government of handing over Karachi to the terrorists, target killers and extortionists. The Shoora through a resolution, said that the terrorists involved in riots and target killings in Karachi were actually serving the agenda of the US and India by destroying the industry and the economy of Karachi.
The JI central body noted that since the inception of MQM in 1986, Karachi had been in the grip of ethnic riots, bloodletting, violence, strikes and extortion. MQM had been part of every government but it had been using tactics of blackmailing. With the passage of time, new groups of terrorists and extortionists had emerged which were being patronised by the PPP and the ANP and the citizens of Karachi were suffering at their hand. The law enforcing agencies, especially Rangers never apprehended the terrorists but only dealt with innocent youth like Sarfraz Shah on some minor excuse. This showed that these criminals enjoyed the backing of institutions.
The JI Shoora demanded that the hidden hand behind target killings be exposed and those involved in terrorism be arrested and punished. The Shoora stressed that Karachi be cleansed of arms and ammunition and all state property grabbed by the Mafias be retrieved.
