Efforts to woo the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) back into the coalition government have gained momentum as Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Sunday telephoned Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Aaj News reported.
Gilani told Hussain that the government respected MQM's mandate and his party would continue pursuing the policy of reconciliation. Hussain thanked Gilani for inquiring about his health. He said MQM would fight all conspiracies against the democracy with other pro-democracy parties.
APP adds: Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik MQM Chief Altaf Hussain on telephone on his recovery from illness.
A statement issued by MQM said that Rehman Malik also prayed for long life of Altaf Hussain. Talking to Rehman Malik, the MQM chief said his party would foil all conspiracies against democracy with the co-operation of all pro-democracy entities.
