All schools in Sindh: Chinese courses to be compulsory from 2013

The Sindh government has decided to introduce compulsory Chinese language courses and education from Class V1 from the year 2013 in all educational institutions of the province. In this regard a meeting was held on Sunday presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali at the CM's House.
The meeting was attended amongst others by Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazhar-ul- Haq, the President's Secretary General Salman Farooqui, Education Secretary Siddique Memon, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr Atta Mohammed Panhwar, Chairman Board of Governors Cadet College Petaro, Principal Cadet College Petaro and others.
They discussed in detail the introduction of other international languages as well.
It was observed that China was our time-tested friend and neighbour with whom bilateral trade relations were also growing every with passing day which necessitates promotion of Chinese language in the country.
The students will be given incentives like foreign scholarships etc to attract them to participate actively in the Chinese system of language and education.
The Cadet College Petaro will also introduce Chinese education, it was decided and regulations for curriculum and other issues in this regard will be resolved on priority basis while the policy would be got approved from the Bureau of Curriculum.
