Another corruption case filed against former GM Railway

As Accountability Court Lahore extended physical remand of Railway's ex-GM Saeed Akhtar for more 15 days, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) widened its scope of investigation into Railway embezzlements. The court extended Akhtar's remand till May 26 after he was produced before jury on Saturday by the NAB.
The NAB officials requested the court for extension in his physical remand for further investigations. Saeed Akhter is accused of committing corruption worth Rs 70 million in scrap scandal; however, sources said not a single proof has so far been provided to the court in this regard. On the other hand, the NAB filed a new case against him of worth 34 crore corruption in repairing of Railway engines.
