Falling trend in price was evident in the wholesale commodity markets owing to disorder leading to less buying by needy people. Pakistan was set to barter wheat for iron ore from neighbouring Iran but some snag has cropped up.
Pakistan has also been thinking the land left unused is brought to be utilised, if not for local use for exports. The world needs to buy if not locally grown.

Til low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3600, while the other type was put at Rs 4100, cottonseed oilcakes with bag in Sindh low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 550, while the other type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 800. Leading items like grams and rice did not undergo any fluctuations.
On Thursday as world tightened belt to bring trade and businesses to move comfortably commodities showed palatable price level falling generally. The grams from Australia shed substantially by Rs 200 to Rs 7800 and Rs 8200, gram dal Australia lost Rs 200 to Rs 9300 and Rs 9700, gram 50x50 also gave away Rs 200 to Rs 8600 and Rs 9000, yellow peas from Canada shed Rs 100 to Rs 4300 and Rs 4500, yellow peas Ukraine lost Rs 200 to Rs 4100 an Rs 4300, yellow dal Ukraine shed Rs 200 to Rs 4500 and Rs 4850, yellow peas dal yielded Rs 100 to Rs 4650 and Rs 4850.
On Jodia Bazar Kirana items (per 40 kg) white pepper rose by Rs 2800 to Rs 42,800, black pepper from Singapore shed Rs 200 to Rs 25,800, mose closed down by Rs 7000 to Rs 84,000, nutmeg rose by Rs 4000 to Rs 36,000 and Cinnamon leaves rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6600.
On Friday no price change was witnessed as almost all the participants were, as usual busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazar chemical items ended mixed. The changes were: RANGOLITE 'C' (Per pound): China finished down by Rs 2 to Rs 90 and Germany was quoted at Rs 103. HYDROSULPHITE: China 88 percent moved downward by Rs 3 to Rs 187 and Germany went up by Rs 15 to Rs 205. ACETIC ACID: Taiwan closed lower by Rs 2.40 to Rs 92 and Korea was quoted at Rs 91.
On Saturday an upward movement was seen on the grain market
Wheat old Bardan gained Rs 10 to Rs 2600, wheat new Bardan, however, shed the same amount to Rs 2640, other items maintained their overnight levels. Bajra low type did not move any side at Rs 2600 while the best variety picked up Rs 400 to Rs 4000. Cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low quality was unchanged at Rs 550 while the best type showed a decline of Rs 50 to Rs 750 due to falling buying interest.
