Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday rejected the increase in electricity tariff and termed it an anti-people move. PML-N leader Mohammad Pervez Malik said the PPP-led government was adding to miseries of the already inflation-hit people.
He observed that loadshedding had crippled the industrial activities, thousands of industrial units had already closed down or relocated while millions of industrial workers had lost their jobs but the government was still disinterested in initiating any mega power project. He said that rise in electricity rates would badly affect the agriculture sector of the country, which was feeding more than 70 percent of the population.
