Computerised land records: service centres set up in 10 tehsils of Punjab

Under computerisation of land records project, service centres have been established in 10 tehsils of Punjab. According to a spokesman of Board of Revenue here on Friday. Such centres will provide efficient and transparent land records services to the owners and right holders established in Tehsil Kasur, Lodhran, Lahore (Saddar, Cantt, Model Town and Shalimar), Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Mundi Bhauudin and Jehlum.
Five more service centres will be operationalised by end of June 2012 in Tehsil Dunyapur, Malikwal, Phalia, Dina and Sohawa. Entry of land records in progress in other tehsils. However, the complexity in land records and numerous inherent errors found in land records during data, on daily basis, adversely affect the pace as the process of data validation and correction of errors by the revenue staff is quit time consuming.
