At least 16 people were killed and more than a dozen injured when their bus hit a truck and caught fire in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, police said Saturday. The accident took place late Friday in Bahraich district about 130 kilometres north-east of state capital Lucknow, district superintendent of police GP Kanujia said.
At least 60 pilgrims were travelling on the bus to the Muslim shrine of Ajmer in Rajasthan when it collided with a parked truck on the outskirts of Bahraich town.
