Vice-President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, called upon the Business Support Fund and International Fund Corporation to extend support for boosting up economic and industrial activities and small businesses in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that there is desperate need to provide financial assistance to SME sector to bring economic prosperity and stability and create new employment opportunities. He expressed these views while addressing a training workshop held here at SCCI in joint collaboration with Business Support Fund (BSF) and I-tech on Saturday. On the occasion, the BSF Director Mohammad Asif, SCCI Vice-President Abid Salam, president traders' union, Sharafat Ali Mubarak, Malik Niaz Ahmad, members of the chamber executive body, I-Tech SMEDA Manager, Rashid Aman, industrialists and businessmen were present.
Ziaul Haq Sarhadi said that the SME sector has adversely been affected due to prolonged militancy and natural disastrous in the province resulting the export sharply declined and economic activities stagnated. He asked the Business Support Fund to extend special incentives and relief to business community through initiating different projects, which could not only helpful to create employment opportunities, but also bring economic prosperity and promote business activities in the province.
SCCI Vice-President said that the BSF should specifically focus on the skilled women enterprises to streamline their businesses in the economic activities, which has significant role in development economy of the country. The Director, BSF, Mohamamd Asif, while speaking on the occasion explained that aims and objective of the institute, adding that his organisation has played vital role for creation of new employment opportunities and is fully extending facilities to business community. Tanveer from BSF and I-tech Naveed Bangash during the training workshop given a comprehensive presentation and highlighted the main objective of their respective institutes.
