A PPP leader from Gujrat, Aurangzeb Butt, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and announced to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday. Expressing complete confidence in Nawaz Sharif's leadership, Aurangzeb Butt said that he had been associated with PPP for a long time but his party had disappointed the masses, instead of resolving their problems.
MPAs Imran Zafar and Hafiz Mian Nauman and former MPA Haji Nasir were also present on the occasion. He said that people were looking towards Nawaz Sharif, as he was the "only leader who can bring the country out of crisis".
Aurangzeb Praising the Chief Minister's services for the welfare of the people of Punjab, he said that public welfare projects initiated by him had benefited the common man.
Reiterating his resolve to work as "an ordinary party worker", he said that he would work to strengthen the party under the leadership of the PML-N chief. Welcoming Aurangzeb Butt and his companions to the PML-N fold, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that PML-N's focus was on improving the living standard of the common man. He said that resources were being used transparently for providing basic amenities to the people.
