At least five persons were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, a bullet-riddled body of a youth was found from Shah Waliullah road in the limits of Baghdadi police station. The victim was identified as Sheikh Niazi, 22, son of Habib Niazi. SHO Ali Raza said the victim, who was residing at Niazi Chowk, Kalri, was kidnapped and then murdered.
An alleged drug peddler woman, who was identified as Shabana, 40, wife of Muzaffar, was gunned down near her residence Korangi 100-Quarters in the remits of Zaman Town police station. She received three bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy. SHO Dilawar Jokhio said the deceased, who was nominated in several drug peddling cases, was a mother of three.
A 55-year-old man Shafi Qadir was shot dead in his house located in Orangi Town in the limits of Mominabad police station. The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy. SHO Nasir Mehmood said the victim, who was the father of notorious criminal Atta Babar, was killed by Atta over property dispute. Raids are being conducted to nab the culprit.
A poultry trader was gunned down at his shop located in Mujahid Colony in the limits of Nazimabad police station. The victim Fareed Shah, 34, son of Riaz Shah was targeted when he was standing at his poultry shop. Resultantly, he received single bullet on his head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities. A security guard of the private company namely Raza, 50, son of Mohammad Ali was killed when he offered resistance during robbery bid at Baba Shoes located in Nazimabad No 1 in Rizvia police limits.
