International moot on culture to be held in India

World Punjabi Congress (WPC) and International Sufi Council (ISC), Chairman, Fakhar Zaman has returned from India after finalising the dates of International Conference on Culture in Patiala University September 7 to 10, 2012. WPC has finalised a list of 70 delegates from Pakistan comprising writers, scholars, educationists, journalist, poets and artists who will attend four conferences at Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala and Delhi on these dates.
Fakhar Zaman also finalised the names of Indian delegation from different states of India to participate in the International Peace Conference scheduled for October in Lahore. A few distinguished Bollywood artists have also shown interest in attending the conference. Zaman said in a statement on Monday that 100 delegates from 50 countries of the world and 150 from with in Pakistan will take part in this high-profile conference. He said that he is in touch with some Nobel laureates and Unesco top officials to grace the occasion keeping in view the international importance of peace initiatives.
Zaman said that there will be a cultural programme to showcase Pakistani folk songs, painting exhibitions, musical shows along with showing of documentaries in English on the Sufi poets of Pakistan. The Chairman, WPC and ISC, said that he was hopeful that the scheduled international moot on peace will go a long way in projecting the soft, liberal and progressive image of Pakistan.
