PPP ready for LB elections: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour, Sher Azam Wazir said on Monday that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is ready for Local Bodies elections and will achieve overwhelming majority as a result of its record performance in office. Talking to reporters here, the Minister directed the workers of PPP to make close contact with masses to get desired results in Local Bodies election.
He said most of the promises made with public during election campaign has been fulfilled referring to granting provincial autonomy, NFC award, FCR reforms, Benazir Income Support Programme, Constitutional Amendments and restoration of government writ in Malakand Division and other restive areas of the country.
He said democracy is the destiny of the nation and a handful of elements would not be allowed to derail it. He said PPP have strengthened democratic institutions and ensured supremacy of Parliament. He said Pakistan People's Party is custodian of democracy, rights of people and Parliament and the present regime would complete its Parliamentary tenure at all cost despite propaganda of opposition. Wazir said the democratic forces and PPP are united on single point agenda to carry forward democracy. Sher Azam Wazir said momentous steps have been taken for welfare of labour class in KP referring to increase monthly wages, dower grant for marriages of their daughters, free education and health reforms for labourers.
