Syed Afzal Mohsin and Aamir Latif elected unopposed as President and Secretary of Karachi Union of Journalists (Dastoori) for 2012-13 session here on Tuesday. According to Election Commissioner Atta Mohammad Tabbasum, two vice presidents, Tariq Aslam and Shams Keerio, two Joint secretaries, Sher Muhmmad (Yasir Babbar) and A K Mohsin, finance secretary Adnan Raza, and information secretary Abdul Rehman were also elected unopposed.
However, elections for nine (9) seats of the governing body of KUJ-D would be held on May 26. Meanwhile, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoor) Idrees Bakhtiar and Secretary General Mian Rifat Qadri congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of the KUJ-D, and expressed the hope that they would work for the betterment of journalist community.-PR
