As many as 1617.900 metric tons of wheat had so far been purchased at nine wheat centers functioning in Pasrur, Daska, Sambrial and Sialkot tehsils of Sialkot district. The process of wheat purchase is in full swing at nine wheat purchase centres of Sialkot district.
Food department sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday that the wheat purchasing process was being monitored strictly at all centres for ensure the transparency and timely payment to the small farmers across the district. Tehsil wise wheat had so far been purchased in Pasrur 3930.5MTs, Daska 6102.500, Sambrial 4938.800 and Sialkot 5467.600 MTs.
It may be added that tehsil wise purchase target is as 17,000 in Daska, 27,000 Pasrur, 8,000 Sambrial tehsil and 19,000M in Sialkot tehsil would be purchased. It may be mentioned that Food Department will purchase over 72,000MTs The department had already finalised all necessary arrangements for purchasing over 72,000 MTs of wheat during the current drive in Sialkot district. Meanwhile, the harvesting of wheat crop is top gear in all parts of tehsil Pasrur.
