KARACHI: On Thursday, Pakistan Rupee exhibited generally a weakening behaviour on market close except against Euro against which it gained value in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 40 paisas for buying and 45 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167 and 167.20 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 40 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.10 and 167.30 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 70 paisas for buying and 50 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 187.30 and 189 respectively overcoming previous day's losses to some extent.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45 and 45.20 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively totally reversing yesterday's gains.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth in the process of trading against the US dollar in the local currency market on Thursday.
According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 166.60 and Rs 167.70 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 166.50 and Rs 167.50 respectively.
On the other hand, the rupee showed strength as it recovered its day earlier losses versus the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 207.50 and Rs 209.20 against the Wednesday's closing rate of Rs 208.00 and Rs 209.80 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 20 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs167.50 (buying) and Rs 167.60(selling) against last rate of Rs167.30 (buying) and Rs 167.40(selling).
It closed at Rs167.50 (buying) and Rs 167.60(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 112,700 (selling) and Rs 112,500(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
