Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday that the government has no plans to close educational institutions and businesses
Following a Federal Cabinet meeting, the PM addressed the media and said that Pakistan is fortunate that it was not hit as India and Iran have been hit by the coronavirus. He said the government has decided that it will not close its businesses and educational institutions as the country cannot afford another lockdown.
The businesses and industries will continue to function while implementing said that there is a need to strictly implement standard operating procedures (SOPs). He said as the country combats the second wave of the coronavirus, people must wear face masks at all times.
Earlier, the cabinet was briefed on the rising coronavirus cases in the country. The PM said that there is a need to strictly implement SOPs. He added that the provincial governments also needed to ensure the implementation of Trace, Test & Quarantine (TTQ).
