The novel coronavirus claimed 26 more lives in the last 24 hours, which is the highest reported in the country since July.
These new deaths take the death toll to 6,893. With 2,647 deaths, Sindh has reported the highest number, Punjab 2,385, KP 1,284 and Islamabad has reported 229 fatalities. Balochistan has reported 152 deaths, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 194 and Gilgit-Baltistan has lost 92 people to COVID-19.
In the last 24 hours, 32,376 tests were carried out across the nation, out of which 1,302 came out positive. Pakistan has tested 4,573,768 people out of which 338,875 people have tested positive so far.
Currently, there are 15,317 active cases, out of which 80 are critical. In the past 24 hours, 605 people have also recovered from the novel coronavirus. 316,665 people have recovered so far across the country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has ruled out a lockdown, saying that the country cannot afford it. He said business, industries will continue to function while following coronavirus guidelines.
