Pakistan's coronavirus death toll surpasses 7000 mark

The total number of coronavirus deaths in Pakistan surpassed 7,000 on Wednesday after the country reported 21 fatalities.

The total number of deaths in Pakistan has reached 7,021. Currently, there are 1109 critically ill coronavirus patients in the country. In the last 24 hours, 634 more patients recovered from COVID-19, taking the total number to 320,065.

On November 10, the country reported 1,708 more cases, increasing the positivity rate to 5.13%. Pakistan's coronavirus cases have reached 348,184.

Earlier, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) was informed that 4,136 micro-small lockdowns are in place across Pakistan, which will remain in force till January 31.

The NCOC was also informed that the Test Trace and Quarantine strategy is being used for disease control and prevention. The meeting was also apprised that 2811 oxygenated beds were included in hospitals, while over 13000 oxygen cylinders were also issued to the provinces and federating units.
