ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Thursday, expressed the optimism that the PPP will form the next government in the country.
Talking to reporters informally after appearing before Accountability Court-III judge Syed Asghar Ali in the Rs8.3 billion suspicious transaction case, when he was asked who will form the next government, he said the next turn to form the government in the country will be of the PPP.
To another question regarding the duration of the accountability process in the country, Zardari said the process of accountability will continue till the country's economy deteriorates further. To a question about appointment of DG Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), he maintained the PTI-led government is "incompetent".
He recalled the incumbent government had to bring five different drafts of the notifications earlier for giving extension in service of Chief of Army Staff General General Qamar Javed Bajwa. "I don't know whether the decision would be changed or not," he stated in response to another question.
