Nearly, 400,000 illegal Afghans are hosting in provincial metropolis Peshawar.
The provincial authority has not taken any action despite deadline to launch crackdown against illegal Afghan nationals in the province. The Pak-Afghan relationships and some other administrative are the basic impediments for deportation of unregistered Afghans from KP province.
The provincial Home Department has once again issued a warning to the unregistered Afghan nationals to immediately leave for their motherland or face a stern legal action. "All the unregistered Afghans, who do not possess Proof of Registration cards (PoR) cards should go back, otherwise, they would be arrested, as KPK government planned to launch a crack down against such Afghans soon.
There is a huge difference between unregistered Afghan nationals and Afghan refugees - unregistered Afghans are those who have been living in Pakistan illegally, if they don't have proper documentation and registration, while Afghan refugees are of those who have been living with having PoR cards. As for as Afghan refugees carrying PoR cards is concerned, have also been warned to windup their activities and business by December 31, 2012 and start preparation for their home country because no Afghan refugee would be granted permission to stay in Pakistan after December 31 this year.
