At least 18 suspect militants were killed Thursday in fresh clashes with security forces in north-western region along the Afghan border, officials said. The fighting took place in the Batwar area of Bajuar, one of seven tribal districts where militants from Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP), a militant outfit of more than a dozen organisation, are active.
An army spokesman confirmed the death toll, adding that two TTP commanders were among those killed in the fighting.
