July textile exports show slight improvement

Pakistan's textile exports in the month of July showed a slight improvement over the exports of June 2012. Pakistan exported textile goods worth $1.091.759 billion against June's exports of $1.08 billion. However according to official figures released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Pakistan's exports were down by 2 percent in July 2012 as compared to July 2011.
The official statistics indicated Pakistan exported 1.068 million kgs of raw cotton worth $1.526 million, cotton yarn 57. 918 million kgs worth $172.201 million, cotton cloth 135.55 million sq. meters worth $201.075 million, knitwear 10.064 million dozen worth $197.281 million, bed wear 22.48 million kgs worth $156.636 million, towels 14.064 million kgs worth $65.566 million, readymade garments 2,416 million dozen worth $163,375 million, art, silk and Synt textile 22.148 million sq Mtrs worth $36.375 million, made up articles worth 53.053 million, other textile materials worth $33.175 million.
