KARACHI: Consul General of Malaysia Herman Hardynata Ahmad has said that Pakistan has emerged as a good trading partner for Malaysian traders and they are keen to expand their business relations with Pakistani counterparts.
Addressing the annual dinner of Pakistan Soap Manufacturers Association (PSMA), he said that trade ties between Pakistan and Malaysia will continue to expand in different sectors of the economy and definitely traders of both countries will take advantage of expanding business relations.
He further said that for the past many years Pakistan’s soap industry is importing raw materials from Malaysian suppliers, which are providing quality raw material. He said now direct flight of Malaysian Air Lines has started from Pakistan and it will help to further enhance the bilateral trade among two countries. Herman Hardynata said that Malaysia is trying to resolve all the issues and provides best possible services to the Soap Industry in Pakistan.
On the occasion Consul General of Indonesia Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat said that diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Pakistan have always been very strong and cordial since the era of Independence in 1940’s. He said that Pakistan and Indonesia are the world’s third largest democracy and a country where Islam and modernity coexist and deliver to bring economic progress.
Chairman of the Association Syed Anwer Suhail Razvi in his welcome speech made a brief introduction to his association and highlighted some of the problems specially faced during the past year financial crises due to LC and retirement of documents. Highlighting the importance of the soap industry, he presented manufacturing data of washing soap, toilet soap, detergent powder, value additions and revenue figures which government gets from the soap industry.
