A cargo volume of 53,210 tonnes comprising 44,603 tonnes of import cargo and 8,607 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 382 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 44,603 tonnes includes 40,741 tonnes of furnace oil; 194 tonnes of phosphoric acid; 1,888 tonnes of acitic acid and 1,780 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 8,607 tonnes includes 3,613 tonnes of cement; 2,516 tonnes of rice and 2,478 tonnes of containerised cargo. A chemical ship namely MV Argent Cosmos sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while two ships namely CV Lantau Arrow and MT Lahore with containers and furnace oil sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of six vessels viz CV Lantau Arrow, MV Genius Star-II, MV Thor Independence, MV Argent Cosmos, MT Bunga Lavander and MT Lahore are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, chemical, acitic acid and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours. No ships are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. No ships due to arrive on Saturday.
