Prime Minister's tuition fee reimbursement scheme: Cheques distributed among UET students

Engr Imtiaz H Gilani, Vice chancellor, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar distributed cheques to Master's students of the varsity under Prime Minister Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme during a ceremony, held here Thursday. In total 71 students pursuing Masters in different engineering programs at UET Peshawar have been selected to receive the scholarships. The federal government has paid the tuition fee including other academic, incidental, or mandatory fee for Masters' programme through HEC to the current as well as future students admitted on merit.
Imtiaz Gilani while appreciating the initiative announced by the prime minister said that it would be helpful in providing equitable access to higher education, especially to from remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He advised students to use this scheme for their academic pursuit and bring change to the socio-economic status of the country. Director Finance Nek Muhammad Khan briefed that the scheme was aimed to enhance the talent of youth especially those who come from remote and underserved areas and could not bear the costs of higher education studies.
