Fire arms: issuance of computerised licenses begins

The office of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar has begun issuance of computerised arms licenses on Friday. In this regard a ceremony was held here at the DC Office, which was attended by Special Secretary Home Alamgir Khan, Deputy Commissioner Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam, Assistant Commissioner Mumtaz Ahmad, Section Officer, Arms and Home and all additional assistant commissioners.
Briefing the participants, Section Officer Arms and Home, Bashir Ahmadsaid that people will get arms license under one roof of the building. He said that for taking thumb impression of applicants, a biometric system and digital camera will be installed and after getting photo and thumb impression, the application will be sent for police verification.
He said that police verification will be completed in a period of one week and then provincial computerised arms license will be issued within a period of 29 days. He said license for country will be issued in a period of 50 days while the people will not have to visit offices and bank branches for depositing verification fee. Special Secretary Home Alamir Khan formally inaugurated the issuance of computerised arms licenses.
