Students were certified as "Eco-Interns" at a ceremony held at the head office of World Wide Funds for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-P) on Monday. Representatives from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Chief Engineer Farrukh Majeed and Asma Makbool, Engineer HEC, presided over the event with WWF-P team members Sania Rauf Khan, Manager Corporate Relations, Hamza Malik, Eco-Internship Co-ordinator and Nauman Wazir, Eco-Internship Officer.
Speaking on the occasion, Sania Khan said the WWF-P's International Eco-Internship Programme aims at to create awareness and instilling a sense of responsibility in our interns. Everyone should play their role in the conservation and protection of the earth.
The certificates distributed to interns from Kinnaird College for Women University, Lahore and Beaconhouse School System. The sessions were conducted at Kinnaird College campus and WWF-P head office. By being affiliated to SNGPL, the students got a sense of responsibility to play an important role in the protection of environment.
The students were proud to become a part of International Eco-Internship Programme and showed determination to protect the environment by all means.
The International Eco-Internship Programme is a structured workshop based on six sessions, which comprises of motivating and interactive sessions that give students an opportunity to learn more about the pressing environmental challenges. The sessions cover a wide array of topics on nature conservation and environment, such as biodiversity, sustainable development, water conservation, renewable energies, climate change, green journalism, solid waste management and nature photography.
