Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and opposition leader in Punjab Assembly (PA) Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed has alleged that incumbent government is engaged in efforts to make the role of Pakistan Army controversial.
Talking to media persons outside Punjab Assembly building on Monday, Mehmoodur Rasheed said that prevailing political crisis will be resolved soon after the Sharif brothers would step down from their respective offices. He condemned the police torture on participants of protests and sit-ins belonging to PTI and PAT in Islamabad besides targeting the media persons engaged in coverage of the turmoil.
The opposition leader also demanded of the authorities to release the political activists of the two parties arrested in the federal capital over charges of attending 'Azadi' and 'Inqilab' marches. Earlier MPA Jahanzeb Khan Khichi elected on PTI ticket from PP-239 Vehari-III submitted his resignation in provincial assembly secretariat.
