Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri Thursday said it will be policy failure of the government if the proposed visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping is cancelled, saying his party is ready to shower rose petals on Xi as China is a time-test friend.
Addressing the anti-government protesters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who are braving harsh weather, Qadri said provision of security to foreign dignitaries is responsibility of the government. "The government failure could be judged from the fact that it has miserably failed in protecting its own people, how can it give security to foreign dignitaries... unarmed people were brutally killed; their dead bodies were taken away to hide the gory crime under the corrupt regime of Nawaz Sharif," he added.
He said the protesters know who is friend of Pakistan especially when it's China the whole Pakistan will stand up to give a hero's welcome to Chinese president if he comes to Pakistan as both countries enjoy cordial relations. Under heavy downpour, the PAT chief lashed out at parliamentarians, saying that there is no one in the parliament who could raise voice on the floor of the House against the recent killing of peaceful protesters in the federal capital. He said, "The parliamentarians feel sad about Model Town killing. Sitting in power corridors merely verbal condemnation is not enough. They must ask Nawaz Sharif whether democracy is the name of mass killing of citizens."
"Even a single member of the upper house and lower house does not dare asking question to the ruling PML-N during the joint sitting that why this crowd gather outside the parliament....instead these so-called parliamentarians are abusing us and saying that we are undemocratic people," Qadri said .
The FIR of Model Town killing was registered after the passage of two months, he said, adding that the government has not arrested the nominated accused so far. "How can justice to be delivered to the martyrs of Model Town as the FIR of recent killing of PAT workers in Islamabad has not been registered so far. PM Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar are solely responsible for Islamabad killing and they do not want that the FIR of the incident to be registered," he added.
Referring to the statement of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who stated on the floor of the House that no written proposal has been submitted by PAT so far, Qadri said PAT has submitted written proposal to the government negotiating team comprising Ahsan Iqbal and Abdul Qadir Baloch.
