A guard mounting ceremony took place at the Mazar-e-Quaid in which a smartly turned out contingent of Cadets from PAF Academy Risalpur took over guard duties at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation to commemorate his visit to the PAF Academy Risalpur 66 years ago. Air Vice Marshal Aasim Zaheer, Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Risalpur inspected the honour guard and laid a floral wreath and offered "Fateha" at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
The ceremony was keenly witnessed by common people including a large number of students from various Schools and Colleges who had gathered at the Mazar. Earlier in the day, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, gave a message to the nation, in which he said: "On this momentous day, I feel satisfied in conveying that being aware of the 21st century advancements in the realm of aviation technology, state-of-the-art equipment has been inducted in the PAF.
"Hence, we are steadily progressing on the path of modernisation and are fully prepared to defend our aerial frontiers against external and internal threats. May Allah grant us the strength and vision to fulfil our obligations to the best of our abilities in line with the expectations of the people of Pakistan?" The day started with special Dua and Quran Khawani for the Shaheeds. The auspicious day was observed with a renewed pledge and determination to make "Fazaia" even stronger and a potent force to face any challenge.
