Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin presided over an important meeting of Cabinet Committee set up by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for reviewing the process of rehabilitation of affectees and the situation arisen due to recent rains at Jinnah Hall on Sunday. He reviewed in detail the situation arisen due to recent rains.
DG PHA told him, that the trees fallen on the roads due to recent rains have been removed by his department and traffic is flowing smoothly. Similarly, process of drainage of rainwater is continuing and water has been drained out from more than 90 percent parks and other open places so far, he added.
WASA officials told that survey of all rain affected places has been completed and water will be drained out from these places at the earliest.
LESCO officials told that supply of electricity has been restored in all urban areas.
Bilal Yasin directed all departments to play their due role in this hour of trial and utilise all their energies and resources for overcoming this situation.
Later, Bilal Yasin visited various areas of the city including Ichhra, Daroghawala, Afshan Park, Ahmed Town, Jinnah Park, Harbanspura, Asma Ali Colony, Sabzi Mandi Badami Bagh and Shahdara. He directed concerned officials to make arrangements for drainage of water from low-lying areas and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
The Provincial Minister reiterated that Punjab government will not leave the rain-affected people alone and will continue its efforts for their complete rehabilitation.
