The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding a mega scam of 530 Acres land allotment on the seashore of Karachi, as the Transparency International (TI) claimed involvement of some prominent business magnates in the deal.
The applicant apprised a three-member bench led by the Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk that not only the allotment was made on the intervention of prominent figures but there was no original record of the land with the concerned department. Responding to the bench query, a revenue officer of District Korangi informed the court that according to District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) report, original land record was taken away by the Anti-Corruption Department during a raid on the concerned office. However, the bench issued directives to NAB to submit all the record in the matter on the next hearing and adjourned the case for a week.
