World sailing competition: Naval chief praises Pakistani teams

Qatar International Sailing Regatta "Sail the Gulf 2015" held at Doha, Qatar concluded on winning laurels for Pakistan, says a press release issued here on Tuesday. A total of eight races were conducted in the Sailing Regatta with participation of teams from all leading nations. The sailing teams comprising Pakistan Navy personnel competed in three different categories of the event ie, 470 Class, Laser Radial Class and Laser Standard Class.
In 470 class category, the Pakistani team; comprising Commander Muhammad Akram Tariq and Khalid Hussain of Pakistan Navy, demonstrated splendid performance and secured top position leaving behind arch rival India. In Laser Radial Class, Pakistan Navy's Petty Officer Najeebullah Khan secured third place for Pakistan out of 13 competitors. The winners were awarded with trophies in a colorful closing ceremony held at Doha. Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Chief of the Naval Staff and Patron-in-Chief Pakistan Sailing Federation praised the efforts of Pakistani teams on winning the International Sailing competition and raising the green flag amongst comity of nations.-PR
