PESCO gears up drive against power pilferage

On the directives of Chief Executive PESCO Syed Hassan Fazil drive against illegal use of electricity and recovery of dues has been accelerated throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. CEO Pesco has directed the concerned officials to speed up the drive against illegal use of electricity and root out the power pilferage and kunda culture and arrest the line losses of the company.
Implementing the directives of Chief Executive PESCO, SDO Pesco Chamkani Sub-Division Sajid Bahadar along with Pesco Police raided and checked different areas and hundreds of direct hooks were removed while four distribution transformers were removed due to non-payment of about Rs 4.8 million In another action Sajid Bahadar removed one span Conductor in Mera Surizai, while 633 direct hooks were removed. Similarly, SDO Pesco University Town-1 Sub Division Zakria Khan with collaboration of Pesco Police caught red handed 12 persons in Board Bazaar using direct hooks and FIR was registered against them.
A Spokesman of PESCO has said that drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks will continue and have once again warned to stop power pilferage in the larger interest of the nation, due to which PESCO has to face huge financial and line losses on one hand and on the other hand PESCO's whole distribution system gets over loaded and the general public faces inconvenience of frequent power break downs.
Pesco defaulters are warned to deposit their outstanding dues immediately otherwise their power supply will be disconnected without any further notice. Drive against illegal use of electricity will continue and strict action will be taken in this regard.
