'Unholy' nexus between PML-N, PPP exists: PTI leader

14 Feb, 2015

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry has said that an unholy nexus between PML-N and PPP continues, as Khursheed Shah taking advantage of his current position as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee has legitimised several unlawful actions taken during PPP government.
Talking to media here on Friday, he said no one is ready to question illegal hiring of 7,000 people as well as illegal rental power plants that cost the national exchequer Rs 86 billion." Compromise on election rigging and compromise on corruption on the name of democracy will not be tolerated at all," he added.
PTI Punjab secretary general Yasmin Rashid said corruption is everywhere, but PPP and PML-N have taken the corruption to new level, because they know there are no consequences of being corrupt and hence no one is afraid of being caught. "Corruption would remain a chronic issue till leaders like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari punish the nation," she added. PTI information secretary Andleeb Abbas said she was not surprised by the news of the PAC being a sham, as Pakistan's accountability process is a big shame. She said Pakistan is the victim of corrupt democracy that needs to be reformed.
