Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP) has announced the winners names of the IBP essay competition 2016. Entries were invited for three topics and overall some 133 entries were received, of which some 28 were shortlisted for the competition. The distinguished jury comprised a total of 9 members, having different areas of expertise including: bankers, regulators, and academicians.
The first prize of gold medal and Rs 150,000/- was awarded to Muhammad Rafiq, VP/Country Manager from JSC Subsidiary Bank, NBP, Kazakhstan in the Professional Category, and Ms Aneeqa Nasir in Academic Category for the topic Impact of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Pakistan Banking Industry.
Ali Atta, Senior Officer Foreign Exchange Operations State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) in Professional Category and Ms Sadaf Alavi in Academic Category were declared winners for the topic 'Growth of Economy through Islamic Banking'. Arslan Ahmed Khan Manager Credits Askari Bank Limited in Professional Category and Ms Fizza Zafar Bhatti in Academic Category were winners for the topic "Role of Digitization in Financial Inclusion".
The competition was held with a vision to further IBP's efforts to engage the banking and financial industry in various learning and knowledge sharing activities. The annual IBP essay competition provides a platform to professionals and amateurs linked with the financial industry to showcase their knowledge, expertise and ideas, while giving them an opportunity to engage in healthy competition.
