PM's resignation: SCBA divided over lawyers' demand

20 May, 2017

Suspending its secretary Aftab Ahmad Bajwa, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Friday announced it will not participate in a lawyers' convention to be held to formulate strategy to demand resignation from Prime Minister in the wake of Panama Papers Leaks case. In its ninth meeting, the committee also resolved not to participate in a convention of all Pakistan lawyers' representative being hosted by the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Saturday (today) to discuss strategy on the demand that the PM must resign. President SCBA Rasheed A. Rizvi, however, termed the executive committee's decision as illegal that, he said, was without lawful authority.
