Two police personnel were shot dead and one injured by unidentified killers near Dhoraji, Bahadurabad in the early hours of Sunday. According to police sources, the personnel were targeted during the duty hours by unidentified assailants who escaped from the scene. The identifications of deceased were ascertained as ASI Iftikhar and Head Constable Younis. Police said the incident looks target killing. Some 12 shells of 9 MM Pistol including 30-Boor pistol were recovered from the crime scene. The funeral prayers of the both slain personnel were offered at new town area of the city. A large number of people besides police officers attended the funeral prayer.
The dead body of martyred ASI Iftikhar was sent to his home town Faisalabad. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken the notice of target killing of police personnel and summoned the detail report from Inspector General Sindh Police. According to CTD in-charge Raja Umar Khattab, the site of attack was the police van's regular spot and the militants of a banned outfit are likely involved in this killing.
