The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore on Thursday distributed cheques worth Rs 12.61 million among the affectees of Qasar-e-Zauk scam. Director General NAB Lahore Shahzad Saleem handed over 40 cheques to the affectees.
The recipients included Ehsanullah who received a cheque of Rs 473,342, M Aman Ali Rs 200000, Muhammad Iqbal Rs 171,000, Khawar Firdous Rs 228,582, Imtiaz Bibi Rs 95,000, M Yousaf Rs 100,000, Syed Muhammad Rs 97,500, Farooq Ahmed Rs 77,386, M Arshad Rs 150,000, Muhammad Nawaz Rs 237,500, Rukhsana Kausar Rs 106,590, Shahida Parveen Rs 272,147 and Jahanzaib received a cheque of Rs 101,204 whereas Muhammad Aman Ali received Rs 2 million cheque in Qasar-e-Zauk scam.
While talking to the recipients, the DG NAB said the NAB is strictly following "zero tolerance policy" against corruption on pursuit of a corruption-free society. Moreover, the NAB is working on three-pronged strategy of enforcement, awareness and prevention of corruption.
The NAB has recovered Rs 184.144 million since January 2017 till date from the culprits in different embezzlement scams, loan and bills defaulters whereas Rs 61 million has been distributed since the new DG Shahzad Saleem has assumed the charge.
