To press the government in favour of their demands, employees of the Workers Welfare Board (WWB) and Muttahida Labour Federation continued their protest on the second consecutive day on Thursday. Amid placards and banners inscribed in favour of their demands for regularization of their services and provision of other incentives, the protesting employees led by Shah Zulqarnain, provincial president of the employees' association, set-up a protest camp outside Peshawar Press Club.
"More than 3,000 employees of Workers Welfare Board are affected due to the wrong decisions of the provincial government for the last four years. We are protesting for the acceptance of our legitimate demands," said Shah Zulqarnain, provincial president of the employees association. The Office-bearers of the union including Aurangzeb Khan, Younas Marwat, and Ayaz Khan said that they were demanding reinstatement of all terminated employees, adjustment of surplus employees and removal of three officers including Secretary Naimatullah Khan Gandapur, Director Administration Shahab Ali Akhtar and member board, Salahuddin.
