Officials in Islamabad were reluctant to talk on the outcome of the US-Taliban talks on record, but they expressed optimism that the ongoing dialogue will lead to a possible peace deal to end the 17-year-long violence in the neighbouring Afghanistan. "We hope that the ongoing peace talks end on a positive note which may bring peace and stability to the war-torn Afghanistan. On our part, Pakistan is committed to facilitating Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process, as we believe peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of Pakistan," said a senior government official while talking to Business Recorder.
