The ‘wink girl’ Priya Prakash Varrier is gearing up to make her Bollywood debut with ‘Sridevi Bungalow’, the trailer for which shows a great deal of resemblance with the life of late Sridevi. However, Priya has made it clear that 'everything is for publicity'.
The movie has been receiving a lot of criticism for mocking late Sridevi’s sudden demise. Husband Boney Kapoor had even slapped the makers with a legal notice and demanded changes to be made to the film's title among other things.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Priya spoke about the film causing a controversy and cleared the aired. “I wouldn’t want my movie becoming a controversy. At the end of the day, everything is publicity. But still, I would rather stay away from the negativity. It’s up to the director and the producer to handle those issues. I am just playing the character that has been given to me.”
When further asked if there is any similarity to Sridevi’s death in the film, she said, “That is just an element that would make the audience want to watch the movie,” she added. She also that it was the director’s idea to create something to build curiosity for people to watch the film.
