KAMPALA: Uganda's coffee exports rose by 4 percent in March from a similar period last year, the state-run sector regulator Uganda Coffee Development Authority said in a statement on Friday.
Shipments in March were 348,230 60-kilograme bags compared to 333,346 bags exported in the same month last year. The regulator did not give a reason for the increase.
Coffee is Uganda's largest commodity export and earnings from the crop are a major source of foreign exchange for the country.
