Pakistan bowling spearhead Mohammad Amir would be seen in action tonight (Thursday) at Vitality Blast, as the bowler makes his much anticipated return to Essex Eagles. Amir finally got his UK Sporting Visa approved, which will allow him to play against Hampshire at Chelmsford tonight. “I am thrilled that this has now been completed and that Amir can concentrate on the match ahead with us,” said Anthony McGrath, Head Coach at Essex Cricket, quoted Essex Cricket. “He will give us the extra dimension as a left-armer in our bowling unit, swinging the ball into the right-handed batsman, as well as that control in the powerplay and variations in the death overs,” he added. Amir was the integral part of Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 squad, emerging as one of the standout bowlers in the tournament on back his gritty pace and line, allowing the 27-year-old to claim the highest number of wickets by a Pakistan bowler in the tournament.
