Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi was crowned as the country’s biggest sports entity in terms of brand value at $40.5 million.
“Alhamdulilah proud moment for all Peshawar Zalmi fans that for the fourth consecutive year, Zalmi has emerged as the biggest franchise and sports entity in terms of brand value at $40.5 million evaluated by Nielsen,” stated Zalmi owner, Javed Afridi.
The franchisee also thanked the Zalmi fans and skipper Darren Sammy in particular for the achievement and added that the Peshawar Zalmi would continue to play its role in promoting sports in the country.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani too applauded the franchise for their achievement. “I am absolutely delighted to hear that the Peshawar Zalmi franchise is one of the most valuable franchises in Pakistan. This is a major achievement and I like to congratulate Javed Afridi and his team for achieving this milestone,” said Mani.
Peshawar Zalmi is one of the six teams that participate in the PSL, which is Pakistan’s biggest sporting tournament and has won the league in 2017.
